This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for stylists struggling to get started in becoming a platform artist to showcase their talent.
How does it work?
Contestants submit a 3-5 minute video presentation on any topic of their choosing, using a live model or mannequin. All videos will be compiled onto a page where peers can vote online for their favorite.
Preliminary Round: Voting will be done by peers who will choose their one favorite artist. The Top 10 Artists after voting will move onto competing in the Live Virtual Event, Platform Artist Protégé
Top 10 Contestants will be paired with a Coach/Mentor prior to the live event to polish their presentation skills.
Live Event:
On Sunday, April 25th (which just so happens to be Hairstylist Appreciation Day), we will gather virtually for the live event where the Top 10 Contestants will each present for 15 minutes.
The audience will vote for their favorite presenter during the event using an online voting platform.
There will be First, Second and Third prize winners.
What does the winning team receive?
First prize Winner gets 2 Free Tickets to America's Beauty Show - Chicago, 2 Night Accommodation AND gets to teach a full class at America's Beauty Show - Chicago!
Second and Third prize Protégés get a guaranteed spot at the Open Mic during America's Beauty Show - Chicago as well as 2 Free Tickets to the Show!
The winning Coach receives 2 Free Tickets to America's Beauty show and 2 Nights Accommodation.
Coaches
Top 10 Contestants will be randomly paired with a platform artist in the industry for feedback and public speaking tips to polish their presentation before the live event.

"I am passionate about this brand new event because I wish I had an event like this when I was starting my education career.
I had wanted to educate for over 15 years and tried every path possible.
I kept hitting dead ends with zero opportunity to replace my income behind the chair as an educator.
My passion and desire to make it happen was stronger than my practical sense and I was able to fight through it and reach my goals.
One of the hardest shows to get into as an educator is the Chicago Beauty Show.
I was finally able to achieve that goal in 2020 only to have COVID cancel the event. So I made a decision when that happened...
I could head to my bed and cry it out or I could pivot and take matters into my own hands.
Let’s face it I was not the only educator that was disappointed that in person shows were cancelled.
I used the time and the rare opportunity to reach out to all of the educators that were sidelined by COVID and invited them to an event that I created called REVIVAL.
It was an amazing success and now I am completely hooked on creating other much needed virtual events for our industry.
